Definition

The beelong.ch Eco-Score evaluates the environmental impact of food products. The result is mapped on a five-level color scale from green A to red E. The Eco-Score is intended to promote transparency in order to meet the new requirements of the catering industry, consumers and authorities.

Explanation

The beelong.ch Eco-Score assesses the environmental impact of food based on five main criteria: Food origin, season, production method, impact on climate and resources, and processing (including packaging). The result is shown on a five-point color scale from green A to red E. A; A-; A+; B; B-; B+; C; C-; C+; D; D-; D+; E; E-; E+ are permitted.
